Our Senior Summer Campers have been busy on field trips, but one highlight so far was their trip to Sahara Sam's earlier in the month. With the hot July weather, a trip to the indoor/outdoor water park was just what they needed!
Summer Camp has been a blast so far! Our Juniors have gone on two of their field trips so far this summer and each one was a fun learning experience! On July 1ST, students from Rooms 10-12 learned all about wildlife at Paw's Farm Nature Center in Mt. Laurel. Students got up close and personal with animals including a hedgehog, a guinea pig, and a chinchilla. After seeing the animals, everyone ventured outside to visit the larger, outdoor animals and to have some fun with dramatic play in the children's grocery store and veterinary clinic. This Wednesday, July 15TH, the Juniors headed out on their second field trip--to see Beauty & The Beast at the Ritz Theater in Haddon Township. The show interactive and the children had blast watching the play and getting involved in the storytelling. Three of our students had a chance in the spotlight-- Cameron (Room 10) got to get on stag and was serenaded by the audience for his upcoming birthday; Domenic (Room 10) got on stage to teach the actor playing the Beast how to do a scry roar; and Josiah (Room 11) wore a rose-covered vest and played the role of the rose bush during the play.
Parents, don't forget...
The bus leaves at 9:00AM for our senior field trip to Sahara Sam's Water Park tomorrow Wednesday, July 8TH. This is a senior camp trip (rooms 6 and 7 only) and we are sorry, but we cannot accept any drop-in students for this trip. Things to remember:
Today our Kindergarten class carried on with one of our favorite annual Holiday traditions by visiting the Medford Care Center to sing Christmas carols and spread Holiday cheer to the residents.
All week, Room 6 was busy preparing for their field trip by painting and decorating Christmas ornament crafts, which they handed out as gifts to the residents when they arrived. Everyone was happy to receive a handmade gift from a student as well as a candy cane! Once the gifts had been passed out, the Kindergarteners began their concert. They entertained the residents, as well as some students visiting from Lenape High School's Special Services, with songs including Jingle Bells, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and Santa Claus is Coming to Town. As the final song ended, Santa himself arrived and gave out some candy cane gifts of his own to the delight of our students. |
