This Wednesday, all of our classrooms carved and decorated pumpkins for our 2nd Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest and they each look amazing! Now it's time to vote for which pumpkin YOU think is the best! Vote online right now, and/or stop by our poll station (located near the computer lab) to vote and see the pumpkins in person during our Halloween celebration on Friday 10/31. The winning pumpkin will be announced on Monday!
The voting function may not be compatible with all mobile phones or tablets. If you aren't able to use the poll, please leave your vote as a blog comment and it will be counted!
Voting ends at 10:00AM on Monday Nov. 3RD. The winner will be announced later that day! We welcome parents, families, friends, and students to vote!

Scholastic Book Fair at Future Scholars Monday Nov. 3RD - Friday Nov. 7TH
Picture
Next week we will host the Scholastic Book Fair here at Future Scholars and we couldn't be more excited! Our staff members are busy transforming our Great Room into Sir Readalot's Castle and everyone is invited to explore our Kingdom of Books and start reading!
Our Book Fair will include a variety of books for children and adults alike, and this year we are happy to offer an even wider selection of books through our online fair, which runs from Wednesday 10/29 - Tuesday 11/18. There is also a Scholastic Book Fair app available here.

To encourage our young readers we will take part in the All For Books loose change collection program to raise money to buy more books for our school. Starting on Monday 11/3 classrooms will be competing to collect change and the classroom with the most money at the end of the week will win a prize!

We are excited to be able to host another Book Fair and we hope everyone will take advantage of the great titles we will have available. Help us reach our goal of a 10% increase in sales from last year and get your little one on the path to reading!

Last night, parents were invited to Future Scholars for Back To School Night--the time for old and new families alike to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and learn about what their children will be learning this year!

Parents were invited to participate in classroom activities and crafts, some of which will be given to their children as a fun surprise! And of course, there were refreshments! Tasty treats from Claire's Gourmet and even some homemade spooky-themed snacks made by our fabulous staff.
We hope everyone had a fun and informative time at Back To School Night and had all of their questions answered. Don't forget that you can order the tasty Claire's Gourmet treats we served to take home with you.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come out last night and learn a little bit more about how your child is growing at our center. We appreciate your involvement!

Check out some more photos of Back To School Night.

Has Your Child Chosen A Halloween               Costume Yet?

10/9/2014

If not, why not think about saving money and looking for a costume at our first Halloween Costume Exchange??

Already have a costume? Kids love to play dress-up all year. Maybe you'll find a costume your child will love!

This year Future Scholars would like to begin the tradition of a Halloween Costume Exchange for our families to take part in. All you have to do is bring in your children's unwanted Halloween costumes! You will receive a ticket, which you can then redeem (go shopping!) on Friday, October 10TH at our Exchange! If the costume you brought in is not taken during the exchange, you may either take it back home, or leave it with us so we can donate it. We cannot guarantee that you fill find what you are looking for, but the more people that participate, the better your chances are of finding a new costume that your child will love. Please help us make this a success...it's a tradition we would love to carry on for years to come!
